COMPETITIONS – PRESENTATION GUIDANCE

The NEMPF guidelines are as follows:

PRINTS
- Maximum frame size: 20 x 16 inches (40 x 50 cm)
- Minimum print size: 9 inches on the longest dimension (so a 9 x 3 inch letterbox print is OK, but an 8 x 8 inch square print is not).
- The NEMPF print rules are somewhat buried at  http://www.nempf.org/forms/PrintChampionshipRules.pdf

DIGITAL SLIDES
- Digital images are judged at a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels regardless of the orientation. Therefore, landscape orientated images may have borders at the top and bottom, and portrait orientated images will have borders on either side.
- There is a useful guide on sizing images on the NEMPF website at  www.nempf.org/forms/How%20to%20create%20a%20JPEG%20file%20for%20Digital%20Exhibitions.pdf

It is recommended that for club competitions, authors try to stick to the above guidelines. However, if you do not have suitable software for sizing images for digital presentation, or are not confident that you will do it properly, please submit your images as originally sized and the Competition / Exhibition Secretaries will sort it out. Digital images can be submitted as JPEG or TIFF files. A TIFF file such as the one below will be around 2.4mb. A JPEG will vary in size, but generally will be around a fifth of that at maximum quality. The image below also shows borders – as added in photoshop.
